A documentary by the BBC which features an Eastbourne woman’s journey to find her past has reached the BBC South Today programme.
In conjunction with the Sussex Press Agency, BBC Inside Out followed Viktoria’s first journey to Vietnam, after being airlifted as an orphan out of the war torn country in 1975. 99 babies were rescued by the Daily Mail and bought to the UK to new adoptive families.
The 30 minute documentary showed Viktoria meeting other adoptees and travelling to Vietnam to trace her past by meeting monks and workers from her orphanage in Saigon.
In April 2010, she made another visit to Vietnam to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the airlift along with another few hundred adoptees from around the world. The journey was filmed by the Sussex Press Agency and was this evening featured on the BBC South Today programme.
